How to Register

To register for a class, submit the following by standard mail to: CHESS Administrator, 7514 Old Carolina Rd., Gainesville, VA 20155

  1. A Registration Form for each student. Download the Registration Form: DOC / PDF
  2. A one-time per-student registration fee of $75 and the first quarter payment for all classes. You must read all of the Tuition Information (DOC / PDF) to calculate your tuition cost and to understand our deadlines and policies.
  3. One self-addressed stamped envelope per family to receive the registration refund at the end of the year if you qualify.

 

NOTE: When you register, you are expected to have read and agreed to the Participation Agreement.

 

When to Register

May 22 – Returning families may register

June 1 - New families may register

August 1 - Registration closes

August 6 - Dropped classes announced

August 13 – Replacement class deadline

Receipt of your registration will be confirmed via email once it is received. Class sizes are limited and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis using the date postmarked on the envelope that you mail. Check the website (www.chessclasses.org) to find out if a class is filled. If it is, you can be put on a wait list. To be put on a wait list, email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , or call, 703 753-1901. Wait listed students will be notified as seats become available or by August 1. A registration is not valid if the form and the fees are not received together. If your student/family has a history of noncompliance to CHESS policies, (attendance, academic, or payment issues) your registration may not be accepted.

 

How to Sign Up for Honors Level Courses

Note “Honors” next to the class title on your registration form, and tell the teacher on or before the first day of class.
